Half Marathon Course Map

Breathtaking half marathon course with sweeping views of the Cascade Mountain Range

This breathtaking half marathon course is brand new to Central Oregon.  Racers start on NW Crossing Road just north of Summit High School and head west into the new Tree Farm housing development.  After a short section of gravel runners will get to experience what brand new asphalt feels like under foot as they follow the black ribbon of new roadways through this very scenic section of the course.  Sweeping views of the Cascade Mountain Range allow you to see Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack, North, Middle, and South Sisters, and finally Mt. Bachelor.

At mile three you will depart the Tree Farm and head up into the Deschutes National Forest on Skyliner Road before turning onto Forest Service Road 4606.  From mile 4.5 to 10 you will run on a gravel road through the forest and across Tumalo Creek.  At mile 10 you will turn right onto Bull Springs Road and head back towards town once again on pavement.  Though not the steepest or biggest hill on the course the climb out of Shevlin Park canyon at mile 11 will feel like your own Heartbreak Hill as you tackle this final challenge before heading gently downhill back to Northwest Crossing.
